MY HANDMADE LAMPWORK BEADS ........ THE STORY

I am a lampwork glass artist living in Melbourne, Australia, and in my shop of art glass beads, Czechoslovakian glass beads and sterling silver findings, you will find a range of unique, one-off jewellery pieces featuring lampwork beads made in my home-based studio. Lampworking is the art of heating glass rods over a gas flame, to melting point, and then building up layers on a mandrel (stainless steel rod) to form a glass bead. Each bead is unique. My love of hearts and roses feature strongly in my designs as does the use of vibrant color. 2008 AUSTRALIAN JEWELLERY DESIGNER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

And 'hot off the press' I am thrilled to announce that I have just taken out the coveted title of Beads Etc. magazine 2008 Australian Jewellery Designer of the Year. My winning piece titled 'Bubble and Squeak' (shown below) will be on display at the remaining Stitches and Craft Shows in Brisbane in April/May and in Sydney in August.
